I Am That
My thoughts move like goldfish,
some orange, some red but all the same
they never tire, and they never stay
To them, all this is, is a game
My mind is the glass bowl,
decorated and adorned to keep these fish
without them all, it is but empty
fancier rocks, pebbles its only wish
Some fish are happy, and some sad,
They move at their own whim, and will
I am the water, in constant agitation,
swayed by their movement, never still
Then there was bright light, illumination
and then I realized something profound
The fishbowl is within an ocean, unmoving
It thought itself small, to ignorance I was bound
and then the bowl melted, slowly and surely
It thought it glass, but it was nothing but ice
and in light, the fish displayed no color, and without
Hue, they were no different from water, to be precise
To realize the fish were water without their color,
and that the bowl holding them was ice, and nothing but
the water in it was no different from the vast ocean,
there never was a fish, a bowl and water, and I Am That.
